Minnesota Girls’ Hockey Monthly Recap – December 2025
With the girls high school hockey season in full swing, I thought it would be fun to start a new feature and once a month, check in and see how the top teams have been performing, which players are impressing, and more! Let’s see what has been happening in MN girls high school hockey so far this season!
The below rankings, team records, and other stats are all as of 12/9/2025.
Class AA – Top 10 Rankings
1.) Holy Family Fire: 8-0-0
2.) Hill-Murray Pioneers: 8-1-0
3.) Minnetonka Skippers: 6-0-1
4.) Centennial/SLP Cougars: 7-1-1
5.) Edina Hornets: 5-2-0
6.) Bemidji Lumberjacks: 7-0-0
7.) Maple Grove Crimson: 6-2-0
8.) Benilde-St. Margaret’s Red Knights: 6-2-0
9.) Woodbury Royals: 8-0-1
10.) Andover Huskies 4-4-0
Defending state champs Hill-Murray held the number 1 ranking until this week, when they lost to Holy Family, 3-2. Both Holy Family and Hill-Murray have had strong starts to their seasons, and we could possibly see these two teams flip flop in the rankings a few more times before the season is over. Minnetonka and Centennial aren’t far behind, with Minnetonka’s one blemish on their record being a tie against Centennial, and Centennial’s only loss being to Holy Family. The games between top 10 ranked teams have been closely contested, and the rankings and games will continue to be tight as these top teams will continue matching up against one another later in the schedule.
Class A – Top 10 Rankings
1.) Warroad Warriors: 7-2-0
2.) Dodge County Wildcats: 6-2-0
3.) Breck Mustangs: 7-1-0
4.) Blake Bears: 7-2-0
5.) Orono Spartans: 5-4-0
6.) Marshall Tigers: 10-1-0
7.) Proctor/Hermantown Mirage: 5-3-4
8.) Albert Lea Tigers: 6-2-0
10.) Mankato East Cougars: 7-0-1
9.) Westonka/SW Christian: 4-2-1
Top-ranked Warroad has had a strong start to their season, with their only 2 losses coming against larger AA schools in Holy Family (who is currently the top-ranked team in AA) and Bemidji (currently the 6th ranked team in AA). Defending state champs Dodge County have only lost to Minnetonka (3rd ranked in AA) and Orono, so they are off to a strong start as well. We’re seeing a lot of impressive records so far from the top teams, and Marshall has played more games than anyone else in the top 10 for either class, and has fared well despite their busy schedule.
